It’s fine, they all integrate, learn and speak English, throw away their 3rd century peasant beliefs, learn respect for women, don’t commit crimes, rapes etc
The system is perfect.
..
lol
It’s way too high.
I’m pretty sure that makes me a racist / facist.
Bait and karma farming used to be good
Edit: damn we got it down by 50% and we are making it tougher this year
Edit: that’s odd looked like my message was changed
Looks like it’s going down
Completely sustainable and if you disagree you’re a transphobic Nazi
Honestly Australia has room and it was around 200k when I last checked
200k is about max it takes time to integrate people and you go too fast you’ll just create more racism. Even in Australia the argument is made to cut it in half and not because they don’t want people it’s just to allow services to deal with people better which then creates better outcomes.
So I’d say 100k a year is a fair goal
It helps our economy in the long run if we pick and choose the 100k.
800k the year before, 400 this year, by 2027 we would start seeing population decline because of the falling birth rate so we probably need a happy medium in the future.
Seems like labour are doing a great job at cutting it down then.
Its completely unsustainable we’re a small island we cant accommodate this many people
almost as if Brexit kicked in in January 2020 and a few month later once a EU and UK adapted to it, everything imploded…
This feeds becoming a race bating skip fire. Can’t these xenophobic pricks stay on FB.
Shouldn’t we champion that the figure has halved in a year?
Should be higher. NHS is in trouble now, as is social care.
Thanks, racists.
We cannot keep this up
This isn’t even news, just astroturfing bait.
Numbers can always be framed according to the intentions. Net migration is not a clear indication of what is going on, and is not a measure used by most Countries. It can fluctuate wildly, and has done in the past ten years due to being measured against emigration, and events like the pandemic. Also, this may include international students, many of which are on temporary visas; so it is not quite the image that people envision. Actually, net migration is recorded as substantially higher than this number given on other sites.
Even so, a rise in net migration seems to be attributed mainly towards care workers and those in the health sector, two areas which are seemingly forever underfunded, understaffed and under skilled. Some numbers on this might be more useful instead then going forward. Maybe it is evidence that education in this sector is not pulling in UK citizens or that the institutions are losing money.
so lower than last year
Surely it’ll be a while before we see figures related to the current leadership. This is for last year, I would expect figures even for this year to reflect the policies of the last government. Do people not understand how long processes take to be implemented, let alone to see results from them
That’s a normal number for a big country like the UK. As long as they are legal migrants.
By the way, whatever happened to Michelle Mone and the PPE scandal with taxpayers money??
Bristol has 480,000 people in it now
Good. We need migrants to make the country a more interesting culturally rich place to live.
