  1. Tesla is done in Europe. Only pwrson with zero knowledge gets that. Electric cars reslae value drops faster than electric now imagine owning used tesla and trying to get rid of that…. Plus BYD now looks so much better then tesla

  2. Boycott USA, so China is the alternative. Nothing surprising here.

  3. Rather than buying a shitty Tesla or Chinese EV, people should buy a Renault 5 or Fiat 500e instead.

  4. No surprise really. Musk tanked the brand. It will be difficult longer term for European car makers to compete with the Chinese.

  5. Living in Australia now – BYD took the market 18mths ago down here. Destroyed Tesla. I knew the same would happen in Europe when BYD started selling properly back there.

  6. More importantly, VW sells nearly double as much as Tesla.

  7. Boys let’s not trade in the dependency of one totalitarian regime for another totalitarian regime

    Buy European

  8. I am disgusted by all Europeans buying BYD! Same as supporting Ruzzia, or any other terrorist regime! Support our own production…

  9. Americans don’t need our tiny poor no money market. I guess it’s fine for them.

  10. They also offer more than two (rather similar) models that are actually up-to-date in design….

  11. Cars from trashy country B overtake cars from trashy country A. Just buy European ffs.

  12. BYD just passed Tesla in Europe and it’s not even close. Turns out people prefer affordable, reliable EVs over a CEO who treats Twitter like his diary. Who knew?

  13. I don’t give a f*ck where my next car is being made, as long as it’s electric and fits my budget (20-30k €), used car is also ok maybe 2 years old. And, no VW.

  14. Tesla stock will spike on this news, more market share to win back!

  15. Either is bad news. Both china and usa supports russia in a war against Ukraine

  16. Not defending Tesla when I say this, but BYD’s success, on top of China’s existing economic success, proves that the average consumer doesn’t care at all about where and how products are made as long as they’re cheap and good enough.

It’s said of innovation “build a better mousetrap, and the world will beat a path to your door”. With capitalism the same applies with the word “cheaper” instead of “better”.

  17. Calls on Tesla then, stocks are only going up if there’s bad news for Tesla! 🤡 /s

  18. Oh look Tesla is up 2% on the news…. This stock makes 0 fucking sense

  19. Went on a business trip to China recently.
It’s hard to even imagine the sheer number of different (and totally unknown to us) EVs there.
In Beijing and Shanghai, the traffic is easily 60-70% EVs (cars, mopeds, buses).
It’s eerily quiet even on giant intersections, and practically zero fumes.

Also had the chance to ride as passenger in some of the BYD’s sedans, well, I couldn’t find anything wrong with them – top quality interior, smooth ride, quick acceleration.

    On the flip side, I also did Taxi rides in “unknown” brand EVs;
well it’s the same as riding in the cheapest *Dacia Logan* or *Renault Clio* here. Cheap plastic, rough ride, but it gets you there and its an EV (snappy, zoomy, quiet, non-smelly).
We need A LOT more of these in Europe IMHO, vs all the 40-50-60K models that VW or Tesla are selling us.

  20. Can’t someone tell them they need a rebranding in Europe? They can keep the BYD name in China, but please find something less cringy.

  21. Don’t care much for either, would prefer a European brand to step up, or at the very least Japanese or Korean instead of Chinese.

  22. Will Tesla have to shut down its production plants in Germany?
