In a rare press conference on May 21, 2025, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu declared that the implementation of U.S. President Donald Trump’s plan to relocate Gaza’s civilian population is now a precondition for ending the ongoing conflict. Netanyahu described the proposal as “revolutionary,” asserting that it has the potential to reshape the Middle East. He emphasized that Israel’s military objectives include defeating Hamas, securing the return of hostages, and ensuring Gaza no longer poses a threat to Israel. Netanyahu stated that the conflict would conclude only when these conditions are met, including the execution of Trump’s plan .
The plan, which has faced significant opposition from Arab nations, suggests relocating Gaza’s residents to neighboring countries, such as Egypt’s Sinai Peninsula. However, Egypt has firmly rejected the proposal, citing concerns over national security and regional stability . Despite this, Netanyahu remains committed to the plan, viewing it as a historic opportunity to secure Israel’s future .
The international community has expressed widespread condemnation of the plan, with human rights organizations labeling it as a violation of international law and likening it to ethnic cleansing. The United Nations and various aid groups have also rejected the proposal, citing concerns about forced displacement and restricted humanitarian access .
As the humanitarian crisis in Gaza deepens, with over 53,000 Palestinian deaths reported, the implementation of Trump’s plan remains a contentious issue. The international community faces a critical juncture, balancing geopolitical interests with the imperative to uphold human rights and international law.
Forcibly removing people from their homeland is a form of Genocide according to the United Nations.
I am generally sympathetic to Israel’s mission to destroy Hamas. However I am very much against this plan and I feel it is something that should be condemned internationally.
Well, nobody knows what “Trump plan” is. And I am pretty sure there is no particular plan. So really Netanyahu only failing down to US support and nothing more on it.
Yeah, uhh that’s a big no from me.
This is inarguably genocide. Israel is as violent and evil as Russia.
Israel seems to have repeatedly moved the conditions to end the war, I don’t think it’s ever been about the hostages despite that repeated justification being given for *every* ***single*** attrocity Israel has committed
Please no.
Dudes casually announcing genocide like nobody’s gonna notice. Before anyone attacks me for being hamas or something, I’m pretty pro israel, and they definitely need to destroy hamas, but bombing the entire population to dust and then forcibly relocating whoever is left is just plain evil.
Israeli here,
Netanyahu is adamant not to reach a cease fire, so he is putting up impossible conditions.
He is interested in indefinite war. Only yesterday he refused to deny he would postpone the elections if the war is not over by then (in a year and a half).
Alright, honest question: Nobody knows the specifics of Trump’s plan (if there are any…), but assuming that as they claim it only aims to help those who actually want to leave Gaza for whatever reason, not by force but out of their own free will (which according to a [recent poll](https://www.pcpsr.org/en/node/997) is about 43% of Gazans), what’s the problem here? Is forcing almost half of Gaza’s population to stay in a barely hospitable area against their wish better than giving them the tools to leave it? How is it different from any other group of immigrant\refugees from war torn areas?
Just sad.
Will Trump use American troops to do it or will he just step aside and let Israel do it?
So is Trump gonna ambush Bibi about genocide next time he’s in the WH?
