  1. Pro-tip: CIC is a red flag. Look for a charity, not a community interest company

  2. The other day someone made a post about “Chuggers” and most people including me were wondering what the hell that had meant, this is my first time seeing one online since then and knowing what the term meant

  3. Do we really need a thread every time they pop up to scam people out of their money?

  4. They were at London Bridge today as well. I see someone advising to call 101 on every Reddit thread about them, but I haven’t been able to find any source saying that the police want people to call about their collectors that isn’t another Reddit comment. Does anyone have a link? I don’t want to waste the police’s time, or my time waiting on 101 hold.

  5. Phone that number and say ‘I understand you were involved in a recent accident I need your sort code and bank account number…’

  6. do the street fundraisers know they’re scammers or they think they’re working for a legit organisation?

  7. Someone should spin a sign next to them that says “being investigated for fraud by Kent Police” with an arrow pointing to them

  8. I get it, I really do.
Everyone’s complaining about then not being a registered charity. But where does it say they are?
Seen them about. Never once said charity either.

So I don’t get the charity based arguments.

  9. Yup saw them at new bond st hanoversquare exit today he got a strawberry off a woman walking past pretending to be friendly.

  10. Saw them today just outside a shop. As someone suggested in this sub, I asked the shop employees if they gave them authorisation…but being the pavement they need none…I told the shop employees that it’s a scam and one of them was actually aware as there was some sort of protest about them in High street Kensington yesterday…

  12. If it’s any consolation, they’re going home with a wet bag.
