  1. 38 isn’t too old to have a baby also TIL that Megan fox has never heard of menopause.

  2. you’d be surprised how many parents don’t want to admit that their kids were unplanned 👀

  3. We kinda do because once the menopause hits we ain’t making no babies without medical intervention and a donor egg.

  4. Shoot, i’m 34 and had my first last year and having my second this year. So many think that having kids in your 30s is a death sentence AND it’s also labeled “a geriatric pregnancy” at 35. We need to chill out with this stuff. We dont die when we hit menopause and we definitely dont die if we have kids later.

Also, I lovingly say this…unprotected sex does lead to kids? She should know that.

  5. Menopause aside I think she’s sort of saying this in reference to the societal pressure placed on women to have children when they’re younger due to misconceptions about birth defects becoming more likely as you get older. It is true that it increases, but we’re talking about less than 1% to maybe 5% for an example like down syndrome.

    Edit for clarity:

    • At age 25, the risk is roughly 1 in 1,250 (~0.08%).

    • At age 35, it increases to about 1 in 350 (~0.29%).

    • At age 40, it rises to 1 in 100 (1%).

    • By age 45, the risk is about 1 in 30 (~3.3%).

Edit edit: sheesh Reddit. This is one specific example of one specific birth defect, there are so many moving parts that go into a child’s genetics and **this comment should not be taken as an universal truth for anyone’s health** , nor should any Reddit comment, obviously? People often assume you need to have kids before 35 or you’re screwed and that misconception is the sole thing I was commenting on.

I didn’t realize I was publishing to an academic journal commenting my poop break thoughts on r/entertainment

  6. That’s a long way to say “Yeah it was an accident” lol.

  7. Side Note: What is it about that douchenozzle that women find attractive?

  8. 38 is considered a high-risk pregnancy. That said, I think she took more risks by having a baby with a mentally unstable drug addict than by having a baby at 38.

  9. Statistics don’t lie though. Feel free to have kids and expect that the math might not be in your favor

  10. She’s right, it’s MGK who has an expiration date, and Megan glanced right past it lol

  11. Both men and women do.

She has the luxury of being rich, so it’s easier

  12. I had my second kid at 35 after a 10 year gap with my first one and a third pregnancy at 37. My geriatric pregnancies were tough as they were exhausting and tiring and I could really tell the difference being pregnant in the 20s and late 30s. Also both my kids were told to have a risk of genetic diseases. Thankfully praise God they both were completely healthy. Celebrity late pregnancy where you have help and regular late pregnancy with no help are two worlds apart!

  13. I mean they quite literally do, she was just lucky not to be there yet.

  14. Gonna be an unhappy surprise for that kid though when they see who their parents are.

  15. How come everyone is trashing Megan for having a kid at 38 but all excited for Rihanna for being pregnant at 37?

  16. Women literally have expiration dates when it comes to reproduction. What?

  17. Just a nothing statement. Women are not pregnancy. Pregnancy isn’t possible after a certain stage.

  18. The fact she’s only 38 got me, I thought she was over 40 by now. I was a teen when she was all over the media as the newest sex symbol all the while she was only a teen back then herself.

    That’s awful…

  19. Everyone has am expiration date it’s called death. Also bro your 38, let’s not pretend your 200.

  20. Unprotected sex after publicizing a miscarriage is the opposite of unplanned

  21. I had my son at 39 four months ago. And I turn 40 next month. He’s my first child, too. Megan has three other kids from her first marriage.

I mean, I get what she’s saying … she’s saying that it’s possible to get pregnant at an age most consider on the older side. But there are a lot of women who have kids in their late 30s and into their 40s. Also, I think the fact that she’s had a few other children makes it easier to have a baby older—at least you know you have a history of having healthy children, etc.

So, interesting take. I wish people were nicer to women/moms.

  22. Unplanned? You’re an adult. If you stick it in it’s not “unplanned”

  23. i think it’s so funny these young women r just now figuring this out. my mom had me at 41.. i grew with the “old” mom but she was always acting youthful and upbeat. she always said she was glad she had me later so she could afford to take care of us. she did this before it was “trendy” and all the other kids had moms finishing college or just starting in their careers. love my mom

  24. Fuck me I hit the reply button by accident and just then I had to decide whether or not to hit cancel or transcribe events as they had just happened and hit reply, thereby wasting everybody’s time, not just my own. The end.

  25. Especially when you are rich and have access to all the self care you need and not worry about your 9-5 plus commute.

  26. Idk man. I got pregnant at 38, and I have a lot of friend who are still having kids into their 40’s.

Back in the day when women just kept pumping out kids until their eggs dried up, no one would think twice about a woman in her 40’s getting pregnant. But now for some reason having your first or second kid at 39 is weird, even thought once upon a time having your 10th kid at 40 was totally normal.
