I freaking hope leaders of other countries will speak up against this. But what are the odds. And would it even change a damn thing.
Unpopular opinion, but Khashoggi wasn’t a journalist, he was just a spook masquerading as a journalist. It’s well known he worked with the Saudi intelligence services. When he got killed, it’s because he betrayed his former master. It was a message to other members of the Saudi establishment that MBS is in charge and should not be questioned. It’s not an attack on western free press, it’s a wholly internal political incident that Erdogan skillfully played into an international incident.
The mighty US and the EU had all the time in their pockets to pressure the KSA. What do the people realistically expect from Turkey, considering their current economic situation? Pursue the case and indict MBS?
