I’m travelling to Germany on Monday to buy a car (Golf/Focus \~€10k) and from recent discussions with dealers from [mobile.de](https://mobile.de) I’m getting the impression that I will not be able to pay using a debit card at any of them.
It is difficult for me to get cash or pay by bank transfer as my bank account is in the UK and the transfer will not be instant.
Is my only alternative to transfer the money to a friend’s german bank account and take the cash out from a german bank? Or can anyone recommend some dealers around the Mannheim/Frankfurt area that accept debit card for payment?
