Except US system is different, you can’t win in France if your score is under your opponent.
In 2021 Local elections polls were showing Le-Pen’s party 6-8 points more than the result. Polls are misleading. Tomorrow night we will have clear picture if there is any chance of Le Pen victory however still it is extremely unlikely. If he can get some vote from left candidates Melenchon in second round would not be even suprising.
