Wouldn’t be the first person to think Ireland was part of the UK.
They entered the UK from the EU and this has caused some visa issues (brexit related, possibly to do with exiting with the EU). I imagine they’ll face a similar problem (or are working to resolve it) when they their next EU date is happens.
Had tickets to see them tonight in Belfast and they’ve cancelled that too. Gutted, I booked the tickets months ago after discovering them in YouTube and doing a speculative “Mdou Moctar Belfast” search. Couldn’t believe my luck when I found there were actually playing here and was all set for a nice evening enjoying the aural pleasure.
Sounds like they must have had a bad time of it and I wonder if they even will bother coming back for reschedule shows. Fuck sake Dublin ye spoiled it for all of us!
