  2. maybe we give them the food they need then?  since a produce rich diet is a lot more expensive than one based on grains and sugar, we should be funding proframs that make sure everybody has the means to do so, right?  not just creating an unfunded public health mandate for the ten millionth time?

    we solved childhood hunger in the 70s then decided it was a waste of money.  surprise suprise people didnt magically get healthier

The problem is they also want it to be Republicans who make those changes so they can brag about it. Only problem is the republicans will never make those changes to help people.

    Ultra processed foods are a problem, especially in North America. The amount of added salt and sugars is alarming. Companies are reformulating existing foods adding additional salt and sugar making them more unhealthy.

    Unfortunately these same foods tend to be calorie dense and cheap. Lower income families spend more on these since healthier options are either more expensive overall of harder to get due to food deserts in low income areas.

    Michelle Obama was on track but solving this problem will take time, money, nutrition education, and a willingness to address food security.
