  1. It’s worth noting that he also fired many of the staff who know how to ensure that they’re actually safe, as well as the staff who would approve financing.

  2. Let’s build them in Kentucky. Or Tennessee.

Or Texas, and don’t winterize them.

  3. Sounds a lot like removing regulations to speed a process which is historically very dangerous but what do I know

  4. If we want to avert climate catastrophe we’re gonna need nuclear. So to me this is the first good thing this otherwise despicable administration has done. Best case scenario Democrats come back in 4 years and we can get serious about an “all of the above” clean energy strategy leveraging nuclear AND solar AND wind.

The alternative is much worse: lots of natural gas plants to power AI data centers.

  5. Former Navy nuke here. This seems perfectly fine considering that absolutely NO corners were cut at Chernobyl and look how that turned out.

  6. Don’t worry guys. A highly publicized major nuclear accident due to deregulation won’t set the industry back fifty years.

    It surely couldn’t happen twice.

  7. Umm.. didn’t DOGE cut the staffing at National Laboratories? I just don’t get it… he’s cut away SO much of the research and development .. what is the entire purpose of having an EO on nuclear?
