this seems reasonable to me, i don’t believe the law should provide retribution or revenge to the afflicted, it should provide rehabilitation which this intends to do, 7 years he will be monitored
he has to abstain from alcohol and he has attend therapy
additionally he was 18 at the time, so basically a child
