Hello.

First of all, let me clarify that this is not one of those “plan me my vacation” posts. I live in Prague and I am a member of r/Prague and despise this kind of submission, where people come to subreddits and asks other to make plans for them without moving a finger themselves.

We are planning a bike trip to Austria at the end of May and we are looking for a recommendation on the location. We want to ride for 3 days while staying at the same place every night (= 3 separate bike trips). We all have all-mountain bikes and would like to ride trails and see nice views of mountains, lakes and the countryside. We do not plan to visit bike parks. I use [mapy.cz with their Outdoor view](https://en.mapy.cz/turisticka) for trails, but do not know where to look in Austria since I have never been there, yet.

Would you kindly recommend a location for such a trip? Maybe a name of the region or a village name? Or maybe a webpage or YouTube channel that covers such a topic? Would, for example, Salzkammergut be a good location for such a trip?

    The whole Salzkammergut has a nice biking network

    Im bikepark focused because i ride downhill bike in holidays – lately switching to trail 🙂

    Remember: everything that is not explicitly allowed is illegal to drive on, and some ppl start a personal crusade if you drive on their land – you’ll have to pay a fine if they catch you.

  3. Salzkammergut in Upperaustria

    from Gmunden to Hallstatt and over the mountain pass to Altaussee

    Or from Gmunden over Bad Ischl to Strobl.
    Strobl is a nice Village at the Wolfgangsee (Lake). From Strobl you can explorer Salzburg and all the Lakes around.
