  1. I feel like I’ve just realised why there is so much climate change denial from the right hand side of the political scale and capitalists…

The opportunity to unlock new territories to explore, mine etc

  2. Feels desperately sad. Looks to me as if the global superpowers are going for the strategy of resource-squabbling in an attempt to be on top when it all comes crashing down. Rather than a universal attempt to salvage our beautiful and generous natural world, and to help those people and cultures that have done nothing to cause this awful crisis, but are going to be facing the horrifying brunt of its effects.

This is something my therapist couldn’t help me with. I’m not sure what we are to do. Violent, en-masse revolution against the superpowers? Doesn’t seem likely. Everyone I know (including me to some extent) is too lulled by their convenient lives, it’s all we’ve ever known. Honesty and adaptation will have to happen – the denial and shifting baseline is a really awful thing to witness. Short of keeping up the individual consumption choices in my lifestyle, bits of direct action and trying to spread awareness – I don’t know what to do or if it will ever be alright.
