1. At the recent meeting of Socialist International, which brought together 89 member parties from 81 countries, a major focus was the call for the release of Ekrem Imamoglu, who was unjustly arrested and removed from his role as the Mayor of Istanbul.

   Throughout the meeting, “Free Imamoglu” signs were prominently displayed. Turkish Main Opposition Party (CHP) leader Ozgur Ozel, Spanish Prime Minister Pedro Sánchez, and other representatives of the Socialist International publicly called for Imamoglu’s immediate release.

9. I am quite confused by the comments in this thread. Obviously this is a symbolic gesture of protest. What else would you expect to happen in a meeting like this? Them marching to the prison to free Erdogan by themselves?
