This year, in Basel, Switzerland, the United Kingdom was represented for the first time by the musical trio Remember Monday, consisting of Lauren Byrne, Holly-Anne Hull, and Charlotte Steele, with the song “What The Hell Just Happened?”. Although the song placed nineteenth in the Contest, receiving zero points from the public vote, it managed to reach number 31 on the UK Top 40 chart.

Remember Monday, in a post on Instagram, were quick to celebrate their first appearance on the country’s Singles Chart, while the familiar “Espresso Macchiato” from Estonia and “Baller” from Germany reached positions 34 and 40, respectively.

The musical trio stated characteristically:

We did it!! Thank you for being behind us throughout our crazy journey so far. We’re so lucky to have you. Can’t wait to bring you all new music and see you on tour soon!!

The United Kingdom finished in 19th place overall, scoring a total of 88 points.
