  1. > “I never had gotten all the money. I have never, ever received the Here Comes Honey Boo Boo money. I’ve never seen it. Never ever even heard of it, if I’m being completely honest. I don’t know what happened to it,” Alana tells PEOPLE.

    > “I let my mama drag me through a lot of s—, but I think my breaking point was when she stole my money,” Alana says.

  2. That money done went up Mama June’s nose a long time ago.

  3. So sad how she was exploited, aren’t there any laws to protect child tv performers?

  4. Her mother should never be allowed into society. That is one filthy criminal. I only feel hate for her.

  5. If I were her, I’d sue June idec. Maybe it would finally set a precedent for children subjected to reality tv and family vloggers. The govt certainly won’t ever do it on their own and this story of children left exposed and traumatized and broke keeps repeating itself. It’s disgusting.

  6. It was such an exploitative show. Not just her mom but the whole show was exploiting her. A bunch of people made a lot of money from kids who never saw it. Some producer is probably still living in a house bought from the shows money.

  7. She would drug her up as a child to get her to sleep, so nobody should be surprised she stole from her .

  8. Maybe not, but somebody is keeping Jenny in Devil Dogs…just sayin’

  9. That’s the story for a lot of kids who were on TLC shows. The network writes a check to the parents and there’s no obligation for a cent to be saved for the kids on the show. It’s definitely exploitative.

  10. There needs to be something like the Coogan Law for child performers in reality.

Edit: read the whole article and I guess there is? How does this happen?

  11. Coogan Law is a joke and a lot of parents find ways around it or simply just don’t put aside the money for their child

  12. I thought there were laws about this? Such as x amount of the earnings of an under age actors goes into a trust.

  13. There’s a video somewhere of her and her older sister talking to Mama June about it and basically Mama June bought a house which she lost to drugs and her legal defenses. It’s incredibly sad.

  14. I really wish there were statutory requirements to put a portion of the fees earned by *any* child shown on these reality shows or social media into a trust that guardians may not access except for things like education or medical emergencies.

  15. to the surprise of literally no one. I realize reality TV show in Louisiana, or Kentucky or whichever shit hole they live in is different from child actors in California – but are there no requirements for a Coogan account ? Are they not members of SAG ?

  16. She should write a book—a lot of people would read it.

  17. That’s so sad.

The whole show and all the shit that happened to the kids is what generational poverty looks like.

I hope Alana and the other kids can have normal adult lives.

  18. I wonder how accurate Alana’s perception is vs the reality of it. I could also see her interpretation of “I should have gotten an account with regular checks” being different than her mom’s view of “I bought Alana literally everything she asked for and set up a college fund”. In other interviews, June said she hit a point in her life where she felt like she was everyone’s ATM and folks wouldn’t love her any more if it shut off. Also, June got really involved with drugs and who knows how far back that started. It’s totally possible she was shoving Alana’s money up her nose.
