  1. Good, I’m happy for those people who have difficulty buying a second property. Those poor schmucks. And since I can’t even buy a first, I’d be happy to help them out with a tax break I don’t get! /s

  2. I bet almost everybody who had the privilege to vote about this has a secondary residence. Another case of politicians laughing all the way to the bank.

  3. Amai da’s nu is onverwacht seg

  4. Weird stuff.. always. Why wasn’t this the first to go? Why wouldn’t you want people to have an advantage on their first property. People are having enough problems buying their first home to begin with. This might have alleviated a chunk of the problem.

Who has money for a second home? Rich people and old people. And most of the time they’ve got enough money and don’t need the tax break…

  5. I’ll get dowvoted but I’m happy. My wife and I will see to buy a home but because I bought an apartment before we got married I already have a first home. But now we have daughter so I will have to payback the Brussels benefit. If the federal benefit dissapears I would have to pay double. The abattement (19k) plus an increase in tax (+2%).

  6. Soooo…when are we going to tell them we’re not ok with this? I mean….we’re getting fucked while the people in power can do whatever the fuck they want.

  7. I’m 35 years old and just can’t get on the property ladder. Sure I’ve had some setbacks in life but somehow banks think I can’t pay off a mortgage while not missing a single rent payment in my life. I don’t even care that houses are ridiculously expensive and I’ll end up in a shoebox appartment. The problem is they expect me to come up with a big bag of money just to get the mortgage in the first place. Gee, it’s kind of hard to save up while plopping down rent every month.

At what point do people stop complaining and start rioting in the streets?

  8. Let’s save money on the people who struggle to afford one home instead of those who can afford more then one. Really??? I don’t know why I’m still surprised by this, but it’s complete bullshit.

  9. I’m getting more and more convinced to just vote PvdA next time around. Those crazy politicians clearly need some counterweight.

  11. So… can we take out a lone for a really small token property so our other house counts as a second home?

  13. good i’m going to rent out my appartment and this would compensate me losing my woonbonus.
Not that I don’t see the Ridiculousness of the situatuation but in my case personally this is beneficial.

  14. OH COME ON! You had one job! ONE!

A few parties didn’t agree? The only parties from the Vivaldi coalition that are not mentioned as part of the group advocating for this removal are the liberals (MR and VLD). In other words: YOUR PARTY! Stop acting like others are to blame when you’re clearly part of the problem!
