For anyone wondering how Alex Dunne got on after starting on pole at Monaco, here’s what happened.

  1. So he caused a massive pile up on the first corner, good work!

  2. Update: he’s been given a 10 place grid penalty for the sprint race in Spain for causing this incident.

  3. He’s been given a 10 place penalty for the Spain sprint which is about fair I think. He probably felt the win was gone if Martins led after Turn 1, but he’d be in a much better place right now settling for P2.

  4. He also has a grid penalty for the next race as well. Bit of a helmet move but he’ll live and learn.

  5. Why didnt he accelerate more at the start or TURN THE WHEEL???

  6. he’s a fantastic driver but he’s extremely aggressive. if he can find a balance he’ll make it but he needs to relax.

  7. He’s Irish alright lads, on his phone as the light went green

  8. Alex Dunne got a 10 place grid penalty for the next race in Spain.

  9. Absolutely ridiculous, he has the pace but the race craft and patience isn’t quite there. This week will be a hard lesson but probably needed to bring him back to earth

  10. He’s young and fast. Much easier for a fast young driver to learn better race craft than it is a smart young driver to gain speed. Hope he learns from this experience and continues to excel in F2 this season and makes it to F1 some day.

  11. This is the other side of the lunacy that can win races, the lunacy that drives you into a wall in turn 1, learn to master the lunacy and he could very well be a WDC in time

  12. Started F2 and finished at the ploughing championship

  13. I’m confused how wasn’t it the blue cars fault since he was on the outside cutting in the inside whilst not even fully ahead? Dunne could of only braked and that’s it

  14. 80% on Dunne 20% on Martin’s, Alex should of definitely backed out Martin’s should of probably left a little more room.

  15. Why didn’t they turn on their indicators? Are they stupid?

  16. Less “kachow” and more “careful now”

Doc would not be happy with this. He’ll never win the piston cup if he can’t get his shit together.

  17. I understand the frustration at losing P1 almost instantaneously, but can someone who’s more knowledgeable on the sport explain to me what he was trying to achieve?

Like it’s not go-karting with mates, you can’t give someone a massive dunt and go on your merry way.

  18. I don’t watch Formula 1, is this good? Are we winning?
