Last year, the rollout of 4G/5G on TfL infrastructure progressed well, with deep-level Underground lines getting more and more coverage (especially in the central section) the Elizabeth line even getting full mobile connectivity. But since the end of last year, hardly anything has changed, I can only notice that the Piccadilly and Victoria lines were both extended one station further, both to King's Cross St Pancras, and that the Bakerloo line may have got a bit more. But no major recent progress can be observed on any deep-level tube line, no subsurface line has even started getting coverage yet, neither the Overground nor the DLR. On precedent maps, TfL was indicating sections to come next (in blue) and also by when, but it seems they've stopped doing that because they did not respect the deadlines. For example, the Central line section between White City and Shepherd's Bush or the Northern line (Bank branch) section between Camden Town and Euston were supposed to be covered by the end of spring 2024, but one year later there still isn't any signal there. Anyone knows what is going on?

Pretty sure all branches of Northern have it now. It worked perfectly for me on the Bank branch the other day!
I’m happy the rollout goes slowly tbh. So many morons SHOUTING at the phone whenever they have signals. They are as infuriating as those blasting music that no one wants to listen to.
I also need an excuse of ‘sorry I was on a tube’.
What parts are above ground?
I use the Victoria line daily, I never seem to get 4glG between Green Park and King’s X
Pretty sure King’s Cross and Russell square on the Piccadilly don’t have 4G/5G never had any connection before (used it 2-3 weeks ago so not sure if it could have changed)
Honestly I don’t understand how slow this roll out is
Stops working south of camden on the northern line
How pathetic
Yeah i noticed the same. Almost all work seems to have stopped. I remember a story last year about the company doing the install were being a bit dodgy with their work and even started a big fire in one of the stations or tunnels. Maybe that’s why they’ve had to stop for a while? Don’t see why they’d suddenly stop otherwise. Wish they at least did work on the sub surface lines, seems like that should be easier.
We should concentrate on getting good signal above ground first
I don’t want it. It’s a great way to just.. log off. Smartphones are fucking us all over
I just want Finchley Road to Green Park
I can’t believe we have a city where we achieve better communication online rather than irl. it does work so I can’t criticise it too much but It feels so unnatural to me.
And that’s me speaking as a mid 20s man.
That bit between Shepherd’s Bush and White City is painfully annoying.
Yeah, something was up when TfL removed those highlights on the map to show which bits of the network are getting 4G/5G next – and that was a while ago, too.
Anyway, I have the same question. I wouldn’t mind, but the flakiness of the WiFi drives me insane.
It always strikes me as funny that the 8 minute part of the Bakerloo between Oxford Circus and Embankment has signal, and nowhere else
Mine works fine on Elizabeth & Jubilee at all stations but nowhere on the others
