PM says ‘biological males’ should not compete in female sport and venues should have women only spaces

  1. Is that what he said? All I heard was “please stop talking about the parties, here’s some bait for right-ring trolls to screech about instead”.

  2. There’s a cost of living crisis and Labour and the Tories seem more concerned with transgender issues. Ordinary working people don’t give a shit about gender nonsense, they want to pay the bills and feed their families.

  3. This is not for the benefit of any woman. This is the culture war the tories are going to use to win the next election, and it’s going to be awful for everyone but literally disastrous for trans people

  4. I must say, this is all rather good practise for when we have to deal with augmented humans with cybernetic implants.

Long a staple of your science-fiction story,
Asking questions about how far you can alter something before it ceases to be what it was and becomes something other.

And all in the relative safety of a sports stadium,
rather than firing lasers at each other in a post-apocalyptic wasteland.

  5. I mean purely on sport it’s gonna have to be a discussion.
Take for example rugby. 2 years after HRT someone that has played adult male rugby is still gonna be huge and likely played at a higher level than women’s rugby, (look at the 6 nation’s half the teams don’t have professional players).

  6. >These are complex issues and they can’t be solved with one swift, easy piece of legislation. It takes a lot of thought to get this right.

I believe things will go backwards if legislation is actually made in order to enforce things like this, see examples like certain peers in the HoL that try their hardest to make life worse for trans people every few weeks.
I really hope that this is bluster and Johnson/politician speak for “well it’s difficult and it’ll take a while, and by that I mean we’re kicking the can down the road”. I have no confidence in “third spaces”, and it’d be absolutely terrible if the legislation instead made things strictly based on sex. Not only would that actually probably make things worse with trans men being forced to use women’s spaces, but the idea of having to use men’s spaces or none at all is horrible. I’ve been there and done that for the best part of 2 years when I first transitioned, and it is horribly impractical and just ends up with you never really leaving the house.
I just want to go about my business as I have been for 3 years now, never once hurting anyone, and I want the constant antagonism of trans people to stop.

  7. So biological females that have become men are good to go? I’ll let the trans-blokes with their phalloplasty’s and years of testosterone know they are good to go for female spaces and sports then.

Everyone conventiantly ignores that to shit on trans-women who want to use bathrooms and changing rooms in peace.

Starting to think trans-issues are becoming the British Governments ‘Malvinas’ argument for whenever they want a distraction from the other domestic chaos they are causing. Just froth up the mumsnet moral hysteria brigade with nonsensical statements and you are good to go.

I’m honestly just so tired of this endless vitreol and a media crusade against my very existance at this point.

  8. 1. This is all distraction from “partygate”. GET THIS WANKER OUT.
    2. Being against men competing with women in physical competition is *not transphobic*.
    3. This is all distraction from “partygate”. GET THIS WANKER OUT.

I’m NOT going to get drawn in here. Nope. Nope, nope, nope.

I remember seeing a video on the BBC News site in 2020 of a funeral, during which a son was separated from his crying mother by a security guard, there to enforce social distancing, at the funeral of their father/husband.

Meanwhile, BoJo and his cronies were enjoying wine and cheese parties together.

    Disgraceful.

  9. The amount of negative attention levelled by our government and media against a minority demographic who make up something one in every two hundred people is amazing.

Do we maybe have more important things to worry about than this? Maybe climate change? Maybe war in Ukraine? Maybe Covid? Maybe corruption?

No, no, apparently the most important thing, seemingly across the whole western world, is making sure that the few transwomen who play sport are not allowed to.

  10. I despise Boris Johnson and I have never and will never vote Tory. But if he says the earth is not flat, I don’t have a problem acknowledging that he’s correct. I also don’t care that his motives for doing so may be cynical.

This is not a left/right issue – unless Labour sort themselves out and stop denying basic material reality, they risk handing the next election to the Tories.

  11. I know none of you like Boris by the looks of these comments but he’s right on this issue. That Lia person who was previously a man was low ranked in men’s swimming now she’s number one in women’s? Lol.

    Unfair on biological women.

  12. *[Cue David, shivering in his freezing, dark home]*

    “Yeah, keep those b-b-blokes out of women’s sp-ports! It ain’t r-r-right! I kn-n-now who I’m v-v-voting f-f-for!”
