  1. TD good to call it out. I see nothing wrong in the companys response (if true).

  2. Never used the return. Everything into the range. Zero waste to landfill. 100% efficient

  3. Is recycling even meant to be profitable?

It’s one of those things that are just necessary for society overall.

  4. Well maybe this is not supposed to be a revenue generator. Many things in the state are tax funded cost centres, not revenue generators.

Perhaps in order to lessen the pollution we simply need to have it be a cost centres. If that means we have clean environment and sea, perhaps it’s worth it. Not everything has to be seen through the prism of capitalism.

  5. Seems to me the scheme probably makes decent money off non returned material. Setting up local recycling would be way better, make some local jobs and actually recycle material. Sending it overseas has resulted in alot of cases where it’s just dumped

  6. Can someone explain how using these machines is any more efficient than a green bin?

  7. I’ll never understand why aluminium got lumped into it. An easily sortable and recyclable material.

  8. It was never meant to be of any sort of financial benefit, they must be lining up another bike shed.

  9. While carthy is probably right about setting a company up in cavan to do this, his messaging about it being a scandal is so over the top especially as he was against the scheme in the first place
