JW Marriott has debuted its brand in New Zealand, with the opening of JW Marriott Auckland, located in the city’s central business district.
The 271-room property, housed in the former Stamford Plaza, features six flexible function spaces, including the JW Ballroom, the hotel’s largest meeting space, a pillarless ballroom that can be divided into three spaces, accommodating up to 220 guests banquet-style. It features a seven-meter wide LED screen, complemented by two additional four-meter wide high-definition screens. Meeting spaces feature enhanced soundproofing and acoustics, and built-in high-tech sound and lighting, creating an environment tailored to boost productivity.
The hotel’s 15 suites feature the latest Technogym fitness accessories and equipment and the ‘Refuel Bar’ – a menu of healthy post-workout shakes, snacks, and refreshments, including kombucha, all designed to nurture guests’ physical well-being.

All guest rooms come complete with yoga mats and risers, enhanced by an in-room programme of wellness and workout routines. To amplify guests’ well-being further, performance-boosting room features promote rest and rejuvenation, such as meditation playlists and eco-friendly beauty products.
There’s also a Wellness Centre spanning 220 sqm, including a 14m-long heated indoor pool with panoramic views of the harbour and a fitness centre. In early 2026, the hotel plans to launch a series of holistic wellness experiences, including sound healing.
Connection with nature is also a major hotel feature, with a moss wall in the foyer and a hotel rooftop with a herb garden and bee hives.
