GOP’s ‘big beautiful bill’ lowers age of dependents from 18 to 7 years old for SNAP benefits

1. The people that really do need it, will get lost in all of this

2. 8 year olds don’t need food. Come on.

3. Ridiculous, but I’d expect nothing better from the current regime

4. Taxing the poor again. No care for the children.

5. Not having consistent food in my house from the age of 9 onward messed me up for life. I remember being so hungry and I would look for change on the ground to buy a little debbie snack cake. I’m almost 40 now and am just starting to heal. I would over shop for years because I was so scared to run out of food.

   These kids are going to go hungry and be traumatized and stressed at such a young age. The anger I feel inside is unreal.

6. Balancing out the no school lunch program

7. I guess those kids can get jobs and pull themselves up by their own boot straps. So awful.

8. Who looks at this and thinks “good”?

9. GOP: 7yo and up should be in school: Mom can earn money food.

   Also GOP: $7.25 per hour is a living wage.

10. If that is the only way we can save them from becoming one of these grossly obese people, fine with me. These trash that make their kids so fat should lose custody for opening the kids up to such serious health risks. IT IS CHILD ABUSE. We do NOT have a hungry problem in this country, we have an obesity epidemic. In a perfect plan, the obese would be getting their food stamps cut severely or be getting none at all.

11. People need to wake up to the fact that the Republican party doesn’t give a shit about them.

14. Sorry little Billy, you’re 8 now. Man up and get a job if you want to eat, freeloader. 

15. The GOP obviously expect liberals to donate to the local food pantries.
