The Basics of IRA Subsidies and Why It’s Stupid to Kill Them. The IRA is bringing EV, battery and solar panel factories, mineral mines, and other industries to the US. Killing the IRA will kill many of them. How can you be a world leader if you are a laggard in the hottest industries of the future?

  1. We know. Still going to get canceled because this is a revenge administration not a “helping American” administration

  2. Because it owns the libs who started it, and it apparently puts money in someone’s pockets rn. Revenge and greed are objectively the only motives behind anything this administration does

  3. So get off your butts and call senators and congressmen to protect the IRA,
Specifically provisions which encourage battery mfg in the US!!

    ETA: and disregard the doomers!

  4. Why? Because the oil and gas industry, along with its allies in utilities and manufacturing, want to keep Americans living in the past in order to slow the global transition to electrification and clean energy.

  5. Trump is a idiot living in the past. He thinks it’s 1972.

  6. Well, if you have a freezer full of cash, that can carry you for awhile, then reality catches up.

    Madness!

  7. Dementia Donny wants people to go back to horse and buggies.

  8. The Hypocrite whining about bringing jobs back to America while killing them at the same time.

  9. There are roughly 2,500 GW of solar, wind and energy storage in interconnection queues right now in the US, of which the ISOs can reasonably expect about 1/3 to come to fruition. With the proposed reconciliation bill, about 90% of those projects will either die or need to retrade their energy prices up by about 50%. Either of those outcomes will massively increase wholesale and retail electricity prices. And it takes about 6 years to procure a new natural gas turbine (plus the time to go through IX studies and permitting) so replacing all of those projects with new natural gas is not a viable option either.

  10. Yeah the most infuriating part of the “facts don’t care about your feelings crowd” is that they rarely if ever actually have a grounded understanding of any of the facts.

If I lose my job, which is the best job I’ve ever had, to this orange turd, I might actually emigrate
