I have no idea where these people were in November–December 2024, when ATACMS and Storm Shadows were flying nonstop at targets in Bryansk, Kursk, Belgorod, and Rostov regions.
And we can’t reach beyond those regions: the maximum range of ATACMS and Storm Shadows is 300 km. Plus, you can’t launch them directly from the border or front line, and at maximum range the accuracy drops – so realistically, we can only hit up to 200 km deep into Russian territory with those missiles.
Then the ATACMS ran out (and Trump isn’t giving us any new ones, just like he’s not approving any new aid packages at all), and Storm Shadow deliveries hit a wall due to limited production capacity.
So Merz’s statement doesn’t really change anything – unless we assume two hypothetical scenarios:
1. Instead of the export version of the Storm Shadows/Scalps with a 300 km range, they start giving us the full-range ones – up to 560 km,
2. Germany gives us the Taurus missiles.
But until I see it, I won’t believe it.
It is absolute stupidity to restrict a country that has been attacked by a stronger aggressor and is fighting for survival.
Politicians who put limitations on fighting should be put on the front lines. I think they would understand the gravity of warfare and reconsider things.
Send the first one directly in to the Kreml, please ensure to target Putins long desk.

Not a second too soon… but 3 years too late
On one hand I’m glad Ukraine has now the ability to defend herself against this evil without the restrictions on weapons provided by foreign nations even if it took 3 years. On the other hand it took us 3 years to reach the point where our leaders finally understand Putler and his ruzzki orcs don’t want peace at all yet alone through diplomacy. Better late than never!
