  5. Patti LuPone is more dramatic than her onscreen performances. I really don’t understand how people not only tolerate her but seem to enjoy her constant need for attention under the guise of being straightforward or brutally honest. To say she’s full of herself would be an understatement.

  6. Ok so Patti complained that Alicia Keys musical is too loud and was disrupting her performances, to which Kecia Lewis said was racially motivated. Audra McDonald replied with emojis supporting Lewis so Patti hates them both now? From what I’ve read they adjusted their volume, Patti sent flowers to thank them but still made jokes about them being too loud. and then Kecia posted this.

    Seems like much ado about sound insulation, interested to know if there’s more tea on Miss Patti that would back the racism assertion.

  10. 10 Broadway shows over many decades is a veteran three times over. 

    You cannot set the bar for veteran as anyone who has been in less shows than you personally; that’s crazy.

    She literally is pointing out Audra is beneath her. I get the racially motivated claims

  13. Patti is in the wrong here. Her comments about Kecia Lewis were nasty and uncalled for. I am a huge Patti fan and I am fully aware she’s going to speak her mind but it’s disappointing to see her talk about Kecia like this.

  24. LuPone has never pretended to be anything but her outspoken, oft-prickly self. She can be pretty damn brusque. She isn’t afraid to openly dislike people.

    Huge talent. Huge opinions. I suspect she’s a formidable friend or enemy.

    If you haven’t known someone like this (in personality, not talent) you haven’t lived very long. I tend to get along with such folks because I am super easy-going and not easily offended, but even for me it can be a bit much at times.

    Still, LuPone is a treasure. She’s in that category of “older women who can just get away with saying anything.”

  26. My college bf worked as a pa on ‘Anyone Can Whistle’ at Ravinia (starring Patti and Audra) and has several insane stories… they all involve La Lupone openly flapping her jaw at somebody about something 🤣 Audra is in my top 5 nicest stars I’ve ever met, for sure.

    Everyone’s mad that “Patti brought Audra into this.”

    The interviewer brought Audra into it. Literally said “I mentioned Audra” and then she gave her honest thoughts, as Patti so often does.

    I’m not taking a side here, I’m just saying… she hasn’t “brought Audra into this” as some people have been claiming.
