Seems crazy, but I suspect that a lot of buying has happened now to get ahead of interest rate rises. Plus people with cash have probably been jumping in the market in an attempt to shield themselves from inflation.
People think there’s gonna be a recession, so their all investing in housing stock as rent is something that will have a continuous income.
Sucks to be us normal people.

It’s fucked. We’re a dual income professional family, live modestly, save, yet there is no way we can ‘invest’ in a secure home. At this point, I have given up and am making sure the life insurance when I inevitably cark it before my wife leaves her comfortable.
