Don't worry – the babies haven't been touched by humans! The parent pigeons are used to my friend and me, and we put birdseed and fat balls out for them. The pictures were taken during a feeding

Worst nest I’ve ever seen
Pigeons really are awful at nest building
I love the little ginger fuzzballs!
We’ve rescued a couple of fledgling pigeons and they’re so sweet. They nest in the bridges over the canal near us, and inevitably we find one or two a year who’ve fallen out of the nest and can’t get back in.
Amazing and the first time in my 46 years that I’ve seen wee baby pigeons. Keep us posted on their progress.
It’s a rustic open-concept pigeon loft
I once witnessed a Pigeon place some sticks on the top of a rainwater pipe, then proceed to lay its egg there. This was a RWP leading from the roof level gutter of a several storey building – the egg rolled straight down the RWP and landed in the gully several floors below.
Pigeon didn’t even notice.
Now I think about this, this is the first time I’ve ever seen baby pigeons.
I didn’t realise they were yellow
Am starting to think all this pigeon poor nest building is just malicious incompetence
Taught my son they’re “Government Survailence Drones”.
Congratulations! You get to feel guilty every time you have to use the door now 😆
What makes this pigeon feral?
I love how they make little to zero effort with their nests, like I can imagine them saying “Nah! Not my job mate!!” 😆
Also laughing, imagining that’s your new microwave you’ve been waiting for and now you can’t have it until the babies vacate 😅
Pidgeons are beautiful creatures that get far too much hate. Thank you for letting them be.
Some say their nests are crap, but they didn’t really need them, they’d normally nest on rocks and such. Pretty great at putting a few sticks down and making anywhere their nest – peak optimisation.
much as i despise those urban flying rats… touching baby birds will not make their parents abandon them, that’s a myth.
A fun fact about their famous shitty nests: they don’t need to make good ones. Rock Pigeons nest on rocky outcrops, and normally the rough terrain would stop eggs from rolling off. Sticks are just an extra security measure to stop eggs rolling off.
In my experience, this doesn’t make up for their insistence on laying eggs on sloped surfaces. I have a pair of pigeond under my roof solar panels. Not a morning goes by where I step into the garden over the ruined omelette of pigeon eggs that have rolled off the roof and hit the ground.
Squabs are ugly little brutes.
