CommUNITY Yoga Space, a purely donation-based yoga space, is welcoming the community to take part in their yoga classes, encouraging people to pause and breathe.

HARRISBURG, Pa. — May is Mental Health Awareness Month. It’s a time dedicated to spreading awareness, starting conversations and encouraging people to take care of both their body and their mind.

Yoga is a great exercise, as it combines mindful movement and controlled breathing.

CommUNITY Yoga Space in Harrisburg is inviting people into its space to help them relax and let go of stress.

The space’s founder, Erika Malorzo, shared, “The idea is to give everybody the opportunity to practice self-care. To give time for themselves. To connect with the community. To slow down, to breathe.”

The small business is purely “pay what you can,” meaning the classes are open to anyone, and the business runs solely on donations to pay for the space. All of the instructors practice Karma Yoga, volunteering their time for free.

Some of the yoga classes are hosted outside along the Susquehanna River. All other classes are taught inside at CommUNITY Yoga Space. They are located at 1423 N. 3rd Street, Harrisburg.
