The Soviet stockpiles are already spent, which is why they’re now relying on Korean and Iranian stockpiles, as well as new production.
Russia is producing around 250,000 new shells per month, which outpaces what Ukraine, the US and European allies combined are producing. Artillery is in short supply for everyone, and this is no advantage to Ukraine. [Source](https://edition.cnn.com/2024/03/10/politics/russia-artillery-shell-production-us-europe-ukraine)
the only real question is… do they have sources and IOU’s and leverage for more.
Why do news stories or opinion pieces like this crop up, they just seem to be out of date, out of touch or click bait
Russia is short on “tube artillery”, even if they have ammunition.
I think a bigger problem for Russia is a good counter battery capability. The Russian milbloggers have been complaining for almost three years that they are not able to respond to Ukrainian artillery attacks, while Ukraine can almost immediately bring fire down on them after they fire.
I can’t believe they haven’t yet run out. Like how much shit they got?
i have no idea of how to fare modern war, but hasn’t artillery mostly been replaced by drones by now?
Russian ammunition isn’t going to run out anytime soon, Russia can produce enough on its own, and with North Korea and Iran supplying them, that is over 10 million shells a year. But the same thing with ammuntion, Iran, and North Korea have their own lines for Howitzer production, so just like Russia can source ammunition when it needs it, it can most likely source the parts it needs to keep its guns working.
uhm, ruskia ramped up production. they can produce a lot of weaponry, and they don’t care about starving population if it would be required….
They’re in war production. They’re not gonna have munition shortage issues.
They don’t need a new offensive. They’re happy with a quagmire.
