Cause they are still in the process of buying aload of them to put round the city centres
Can someone explain to me why they can’t be treated identically as a push bike right now and regulated the same?
As in, must be used on the road or on cycle paths, need a bell and front and back reflectors and you’re good to go?
It’s been all over the local papers in the last 6 months they will end up doing like they did in Spain ect will be like the coke a cola bikes in Belfast
Why such a delay? The law as drafted looked good enough. It is a constant pattern with this government that no progress can be made on most issues because they are “incompatible” with current legislation and the can is kicked down the road. They are trying to cover for the 0.001% at the expense of the rest. Accept good and if loophole found then close it.
We saw during the lockdown how quick they could move to adopt controversial laws and even give the publicans a dig out when it came to drinking in the streets.
I hope the Gardai continue to use discretion and use common sense but crack down on those using scooters irresponsibly.
I was driving home the other night and a girl on an escoooter overtook my car, I was doing 40kmh, how are they _that_ fast? Are people fiddling with the electrics on them or can you get ones that do those kind of speeds?
Seen some really young children flying by on those things.
They must control everything
Let’s wait till there’s a few deaths, nice one.
**Government:** Please find cheaper, more sustainable ways to get around.
**People:** Found it.
**Government:** ILLEGAL!
Nothings on time
Probably trying to work out how much road tax to charge them
