Pathetic. For some strange reason, whenever talking about housing, the basic principle of supply and demand is always ignored. Build more, or make it easier to build more, so that supply increases, and so that in turn prices decrease (or at least stagnate).
Hopefully some new constructions/rénovations but most likely more money to feed the housing bubble.
It shouldn’t just be Ghent. Brussels is also dealing with a growing housing crisis.
Why just Gent?
I’ve even lived there and I’m surprised why it is the most affected city. I get the university and tourism and the fact there are many jobs but I can’t understand fully the reasons behind the housing crisis.
