All the people getting upset over a lack of clapping are suspiciously quiet about Zelenski inviting a neo nazi milita to address the Greek parliament this morning.

If you are seriously in support of sanctions you are a psychopath. All they do is hurt innocent people. Yemen, Syria, and Venezuela are just a few of many recent examples of sanctions decimating a population (to the point of mass starvation) and doing nothing to impact political change. I would love to hear of a single example of sanctions working to their intended effect. All it does is create severe disdain for the countries that are doing the sanctions. It does not inspire people to rise up against their government or any of that nonsense.
It actually seemed like PBP were actually starting to make ground with people who don’t wear anoraks and smell like cigarettes and fart over the last couple of years.

PBP and Clare Daly, as well as Mad Mick, have a lot of popular support in Ireland. That’s why they have the positions of repsonsibility they do. Anti-Nato, Anti-West, supportive of any conspiracy theory beneficial to Assad / Putin / Hamas etc (remember Daly claiming that the white helmets were actually the ones killing civilians to make Assad look bad?) – that’s a whole section of the left which is *hugely* popular in Ireland. And on this sub.
I am so bitterly disappointed by this whole episode, been a loyal #1 Richard Boyd Barrett voter since my first general election many years ago. I agree with him on just about everything else, but this would make me seriously consider giving the local SF candidate the top spot at the next election and bumping RBB to #2, which I honestly never thought I’d say.

Clare Daly is also a bitch. She is against sanctions with Russia and says the only way forward is negotiations…..yeah she can sit down with the madman on the 40th day of the unprovoked invasion and pay for the testing on Nerve Agent. Please the man isn’t interested in diplomacy.

They don’t care about reading the room. They absolutely no issue with alienating people, their absurd take on the George Nchenko incident is evidence of that. They’ve always been a party I have considered voting for and I’m certainly another person that feels alienated by their take but I kind of respect the fact that they’re willing to stick to their beliefs even it’s to their own detriment. The same can’t be said of Sinn Fein (another party that I consider when voting) who went on a deletion spree on their website.

Daly is an absolute gobshite and PBP are nothing but contrarians. I’m far from a FF/FG supporter but if they said the sky is blue PBP would argue to death that it is actually orange.
You see now they’ve just exposed themselves. They have all the time in the world to scream about other atrocities in the world but apparently, this one isn’t good enough for them. Why? Why is Ukrainian suffering now being treated with apathy? Aren’t they humans too? Or maybe these people use the victimhood of other oppressed people to try and prove that we don’t care about victims of tragedies and to try and prove that they “care” about oppression.
