J.K. Rowling uses Harry Potter wealth to fund anti-transgender organization

1. Isn’t she using **her wealth** rather than **Harry Potter’s weath**?

   Let’s cut the crap, this is about boicotting her – which is impossible – and also to signal people who can be boycotted what they risk by voicing their opinions.

2. Her hatefulness has prevented me from enjoying Harry Potter with my kids, which as a cringe Millennial I was very much looking forward to. Joan can go fuck herself.

3. Imagine if she spent this energy trying to bring up women rather than trying to bring down trans women. Seems like these days she’s dropping the “feminist” part of TERF. It’s almost all negative now.

4. Imagine that, she says that only woman menstruate and somehow became a bigot and hate trans for that.

   A huge hate campaign happen and she went from maybe in the middle to anti-trans

   And this comment section exactly proves that, you guys are not doing anything for the trans community other than pushing normal people to the other side

5. A complete farce of an article that does yet more damage to the trans rights movement due to its complete incoherent hatred of this chick. 

   In a nutshell, she donated money to her OWN FOUNDATION which states on its webpage that it “offers legal funding support to individuals and organisations fighting to retain women’s sex-based rights in the workplace, in public life, and in protected female spaces.”

   Which the writer of this article doesn’t like because JKR doesn’t think trans women are women… But that’s not what this group even deals with so it’s literally just guilt by association. 

6. It’s her money, she can do whatever she wants with it. It’s been demonstrated quite a few times over the years that celebrities/creators don’t owe their fans anything when it comes to their own personal beliefs. Just as some liberal celebrities have said they don’t want conservative fans, JK can say she doesn’t want her pro-transgender fans.

7. Christ, what’s her fucking problem? Did a trans person eat her child alive or something? I get that she thinks she’s a moral crusader on the right side of history, but Jesus, the unrelenting cruelty of it all.

8. Imagine the goodwill she could have built had she commited her life to a less obtuse cause, like: JK, what if you helped end world hunger? Do you think the magic kids fans would turn their back on you because of that? Or fight climate change, there’s so many greater evils even if you firmly believe trans people are a problem…

9. Maybe I’m reading too outside the box here, but given her wealth is pretty much solely coming from that IP, isn’t it kinda a given that if she donates to any cause it will be from that?

10. Bruh why can’t this woman just go away and frolic with the bunnies or w/e the oibruvs do on their weird island.

    As a nice consolation, the three actors that played Harry, Hermione and Ron in the films have repudiated her views.

11. Someone should repost this in every HP forum and especially when the new show comes out. “Sorry, but this is what consuming HP content enables. You can still choose to partake in it, but just know that you are supporting miss Voldemort.”

12. You know what’s funny? The books/movies portray the Pure Bloods as hateful. Even calling wizards/witches from mixed families “Half Breeds” or “Mudbloods”. She is clearly action as Lucious here isn’t she? She just doesn’t have his drip.

13. Its taken a long time for me but im now finally cutting myself off from buying any more HP stuff.

    I grew up with HP and loved the movies and the wimsy, and in a way, it helped inspire my creative writing as well as discovering myself as a gay man.

    But over the years as JK showed her true colours i tried to seperate the art from the artist but unfortunately she is still in control and will likely be around for another 30+ years so i cant spend any more HP money that could funnel back to her.
