Harry Enfield as William Ulsterman. It’s interesting how things change over the years. Just normal television in 1997, one year before The Good Friday Agreement.

  1. It’s amazing isn’t it?

    Enthropy or some shit like

  2. Love this man. So many rib busting skits over the years. Genius.

  3. The outward appearance of Unionism has improved ever so slightly, but the underlying message is exactly the same. At near 30 years old this is still incredibly relevant.

  4. Although I’m from a CNR background.. I’m still inspired by him or Ian Og, whenever I wanna give people from down south a fright. Banter obviously, but strangely comforting. Not sure why? Stockholm syndrome perhaps

  5. But… my ma said it was my turn to post the Harry Enfield as William Ulsterman clip 😭

  6. Funnily enough I was listening to Christmas at Adams house on YouTube last night (John McBlain), brought back memories, some of the gags aren’t for todays audience though!

  7. Enfield should have done a poorly lip-synched dub for the Adams character.

  8. Would love some pineapple and cheddar cheese on a stick now

  9. The football manager one where he addresses every player in their own language is hilarious

  10. How common is Cheddar Cheese and Pineapple on a stick, Ive heard its called Posh Hedgehogs

  11. >Just normal television

This actually caused a bit of fuss at the time. Some people in England wrote into papers saying it was offensive.

Ironically people in NI loved it.
