Drink it to the bottom of the T and put a vodka lemonade in it, turbo shandy.
Caledonian Best is a great beer too 👌🏻
No, you’d be a full blown beast. Don’t fuckin do that. Creep.
Welcome and enjoy, assuming Edinburgh. here are some good pubs / tap rooms, not in any particular order. Campervan brewery, moonwake tap room, new barns tap room, the Cumberland, Stockbridge tap, the cask and barrel (Broughton street), the Cumberland bar, the wally dug, the Guildford arms. That should be enough to keep you going.
And don’t do that.
I love Tennents. I love whisky. However drinking them together is a crime that you should be punished for.
I mixed Fireball and Tennants. Highly recommended if you need to spew as soon as possible
Pint and a nip – fine
Pint with a nip – deviant
In the Ladywell?
Tennant’s is absolutely boufin
What whiskey is it???
Essex boy here who regularly works in Edinburgh. Here are my suggestions:
– Black Fox in Leith. Just off the tram and while it’s personally sentimental to me it’s just a cool burger place
– I’d recommend the open top bus tour if you have time. It’s actually quite educational and it changed my mind about tourist bus tours
– walk up to the castle and then around it at least once if you can. View is amazing.
– Princes St isn’t particularly special. It’s akin to a UK high street rather than a city centre imo.
Love the Scottish – they’re friendly to us English visitors (but I suspect it’s through gritted teeth)
It’s normally a nip and a half (a dram of whisky and a half pint). You’ve gone full pint – I respect that!
Youd be wrong to touch Tennents, it’s mass market chemical pish, go find some proper beer.
The whisky is a better choice, just learn how to spell it!
Search out Innis & Gunn whisky barrow beer it is superb as a whisky chaser as we say in Scotland. In other words it’s the best beer to compliment whisky. Better still go along to a Innis & Gun bar either in Edinburgh or Glasgow. Easily available in supermarkets Innis & Gunn is Sweden’s biggest imported beer now.
Mother Superior on Leith Walk has a great beer selection and a fantastic whisky menu. Cracking pub but FFS don’t tell anyone as I don’t want it getting too busy.
Start as you mean to go on, mate!
I lived in the East End of Glasgow for a bit. My neighbour led an Orange flute band, worked for Tennants and had a bar set up in his living room to serve kegs of their product at practice sessions.
The brewery itself grew up around the Lady Well to use its water. The Glasgow Necropolis is just uphill of it now. Next to that in one direction is a massive tobacco factory, another neighbour was a drying-out hospital for alcoholics, across the road from that was the biggest city slaughterhouse, and there was a hostel for terminal down and outs just down the road. Great potential for a themed tourist trail.
It’s Whisky, not Whiskey.
whiskey 🙄
You seem to be blending in already
Enjoy pal…🏴
You can if you want to. As everyone is different. I suggest having a glass of water and a superbly strong coffee and re-read what you wrote . Then learn from mistakes.
And have a good visit.
(If I see you pouring whisky into Tennents I will make sure you are barred) lol. Xx
It’s quite a nice little power up, I used to put whisky in Prosecco to make it hit harder. The more you know
Lager and a chaser, not a chased lager.
You pay for it, you do what you want with it.
That’s a full Scottish breakfast right there!
A left and a right
Ceud mìle fàilte 🏴
Enjoy!
It’s called a lady boy.
Not best to mix whisky and beer. Unless you want a quick path to a headache, or a very cheap night out.
Look at it this way, you aren’t going to make the pint any worse.
Tennents is rotten
I mean, you can, and Christ knows you wouldn’t be the first
But please enjoy them separately, we will thank you for it and Christ knows your head will too tomorrow
You’re only allowed to be double parked at the end of the night 🥴

You’re… still at the airport, aren’t you?!
