Hamas official says it rejects new Gaza ceasefire plan backed by Israel

1. (edit corrected to second ceasefire, had completely forgotten about the one in Nov 2023) And of course, the deal is only offering a 60 day truce with no guarantees of a peace deal in the future (unlike the second ceasefire, broken by Israel, which had a clear path to peace delineated pending further negotiations on the following phases of the ceasefire) because all of Israel’s proposals have to ensure that they’ll have the right to invade at a later time to continue the genocide

2. It’s absurd that Hamas is still pretending they will be in charge after all this.

   That’s literally what’s keeping this war going. Hamas refusing to surrender. They’ll let their people die and starve first.

   So gross.

3. No deal Israel offers can ever be considered trustworthy.

   Israel is one of the last states on the planet that still has a cohesive national project, and that project is the total elimination of the Palestinian people within the boarders of the territory it controls, which includes the West Bank and Gaza.

   Nothing else will ever suffice for the Israeli people.  They will never stop unless some out side force compels them and that seems unlikely.
