As someone who remembers how grotty and flat Stratford was in the 90s, driving up from Leyton towards Stratford and seeing the skyline never fails to makes me smile, especially that building with the chunk missing out of it
Stratford Centre still going strong with its excellent Asian supermarket and much else to enjoy. There was a plan to build towers on land around it ((possibly not the main shop bit) but all gone quiet.
Stratford is great to live in at the moment. One of the best parks in the city, nearly unbeatable transport options to the centre, great shopping, and the rent hasn’t ballooned yet. Friends of mine here can see Canary Wharf, the Shard, and the City of London from their bedroom windows for less rent than people pay in Clapham.
Did you bump into that twat Robert Jenrick, TfL’s new revenue protection inspector?
Ahhh this is nice to see, walked up those steps yesterday evening to go see lilo and stitch with my gf at the Vue in Westfield, was hoping to see myself lol. Always enjoy hopping on the DLR to Stratford, it’s a great spot!
It’s certainly better than 20 years ago when I frequented as a teen. Gentrification has its major benefits. Gail’s in the East Village by 2030, mark my words !
