Baden-Baden is a really cute little town, but I’m also biased to spending a little time in Stuttgart because I grew up there (much more of a big city with those types of activities).
A) Alongside the Rhine, if you have enough time, switch banks and take the A35 through Alsace. It is for free.
B) Avoid Stuttgart like the plague. It’s an infrastructureand road nightmare!

Edit: I oversaw the third option. Bodensee is *very* beautiful and scenic, however, the A7 is mostly boring. NIce to drive in my experience, but rather boring to look – *IF* you don’t entertain the thought of visiting Nördlingen which, in my opinion, is the better (and way less overrun) version of what Rothenburg is meant to be.
I would say A. If you take a dip into Baden-Baden and maybe drive along the B500 towards Offenburg, or stop at the Rhine at some point, it should be a very nice ride.
B is just bad because Stuttgart.
C could be nice because you drive along the Bodensee and could stop to see Konstanz, and you even drive over the black forest a little, just like in A.
Edit: got the direction wrong. Still, check out the black forest and Baden-Baden
Hmmmm, I know it‘s the longer route, but driving along the Bodensee is quite a scenic thing to do.
I am planning something similar, never been in this part of Germany before. My route starts at Frankfurt to Baden Baden and to frieburg via black forest route (any good suggestions welcome).
For a really scenic trip, you should skip the Autobahns.
As someone living in Karlsruhe, I would avoid driving up the A5 because of traffic.
For the love of god don’t drive through Stuttgart if you ever want to reach your destination that day.
That leaves the route along Bodensee, which might have some nice views, too.
In the end, if you stay on the Autobahn you won’t see much in any case but forests, shrubbery and green hills. Along the Bodensee you may see the lake. But for scenic routes, Autobahn isn’t the best choice to begin with.
Absolutely nothing scenic about A5. Straight highway, forests or fields on both sides, flat as a pancake, every now and then a town in the distance.
I would say the most right one.
The route through black forest has nice scenery but still is a good road to drive.
Bodensee is nice too. From there the Autobahn will not be super spectacular. But this is true for all of them.

Titisee-Neustadt is a really scenic road https://www.suedkurier.de/storage/image/2/4/8/4/12924842_shift-644×395-2560w_1wJzds_2HemT2.jpg
From these three, the right one.
But if you want ‘scenic’ avoid all Autobahn.
