  1. Most surprising thing is that it took so long for the jury to come to a decision given how little the defence brought to the table.

  2. His lies were ridiculous, and an insult to Tina and her family.

  3. And what about investigating the original keystone cops?

  4. Good. The fact that he was televised crying and begging for her to come home still gives me the chills.

  5. That poor poor woman. Justice finally. Hope he rots in prison.

  6. Remember listening to this prick on the radio reaching out and concerned for her well being more than four years ago now.

  7. I still don’t fully understand how the Gardaí didn’t do a proper search in 2017, her remains weren’t hidden particularly well.

I could be wrong but I’d imagine that a cadaver dog would have had a positive reaction if one had been in around the home.

  8. I don’t care how long they took as long as they got to the right answer in the end. He’s had his day in court.  Now,  let us lock the door and melt down the key.

  9. All the people here saying it shouldn’t have taken the jury so long – you’re wrong.

As a jurist, you CANNOT just draw your own conclusions based off what you’ve read in the paper, or on social media, or chatting with your mum before the trial.

You must consider ALL the evidence, and ONLY the evidence. You can’t just say “well his fingerprints were on the murder weapon so that’s good enough for me. I don’t need to see any other evidence.”

That’s how mistrials and wrongful convictions happen -juries not doing the job the way it’s supposed to be done.

  10. He killed her.
    .
Buried her under the stairs and tried to plead not guilty

hope he rots behind the small bars in cork

  11. I remember his teary appeals on Virgin media news with Paul Byrne over the years. Him knowing full well where she was and what he did.

To go on then with the lies and blackening Tina’s name with them is despicable.

  12. Good, now lock him up and throw away the key.

How on earth did the Gardai manage to miss her being buried under her own floor for 7 years?!

  13. The look of a man who would fall for online monkey scams

  14. Good, because he murdered her, then tried to drag the poor lady’s name through the dirt. Also he strikes me as being an absolute asshole

  15. So many questions still left unanswered for her poor family and dragging them through this court case was sick and twisted. Really highlights the kind of sick creature he is. He must have gotten off on the media attention of a trial because no way he was that deluded that he thought he’d actually get away with it. The horrific murder aside, if he’d had any remorse at all, he would have confessed years ago. Sick fuck.

I really hope he never sees the light of day again.

  16. Everyone I spoke to knew it was him from day 1. The absolute creepy gimp of him was pretty plain to see, and everything he was saying and doing was just odd, but no proof so what could they do. But absolutely no surprise.

  17. “He said he tried to make her as comfortable as he could.

He told gardaí it was like a “self-funeral” and said he got tulips from the local supermarket to put into the grave before covering her with concrete.

He claimed the fact that parts of her body had been preserved by the burial meant that he had achieved his intention of making her comfortable.”

What in the actual fuck kind of psychopathy is this.

  18. What a moron he is. Hopefully it brings some closure to her family.

  19. GO TO JAIL. GO DIRECTLY TO JAIL.

Do not pass go, do not collect your dole money like you did after you strangled your wife and lobbed her in a freezer, you sociopathic prick.

  20. Just read on another report that she was only 8 stone/50kg. He was over six foot. She didn’t stand a chance. RIP.

  21. Anytime this guy spoke I’d think any right minded person would think he was fucking mental.

  22. And the water is wet.

He’s the apitomy of a gowl.

  23. Imagine but for the work carried out in the house next door he may never have been caught!

  24. Rest in peace Tina. I’m so relieved this excuse of a human is going to be in prison for what I hope is a long time.

  25. There were so many failures in this case:

    * The police not doing a thorough search of the house when she first was reported missing.
    * The police taking too long to arrest/question him when everyone knew he had something to do with it. You can tell he isn’t the full bob.

    * It seems like he enjoyed the attention he got from the media and it was all about him rather than her (narcissist). After the police initially searched the house and didn’t find her – he probably thought he was more intelligent than them and had “outsmarted” them which enabled him to go on his very suspicious media tour.

    * During the trial, he claimed he was the victim of her violence, he adored her and devoted his life to her (narcissist). Very similar to what OJ Simpson said about his wife… OJ was the victim.. loved her too much etc.

My theory is she found out he lost all their money trying to buy a few monkeys over the internet and it was the last straw, confronted him and tried to leave and he couldn’t handle it. God only know what her life was like all those years with him. May she RIP.

  26. New from his interviews with no eye contact that he was guilty

  27. At least justice was at last served. So many missing people without answers about their loved ones. Guys like this fella think they’re smarter than all of us. But his explanation was ridiculous from the get go and he could’ve spared Tina’s family a trial after already causing them so much grief.

  28. He has no shame. Only ***after*** her body was found did his claims of DV come out, after he had buried her under the stairs, sold her stuff a week later, tried to give her cousin the freezer he had her body in, after years of media interviews…

  29. God only knows the terror of her last moments.

It was not enough to take her life, but he tried to destroy her character in court also.

Over the years, he played the role of a somewhat docile devoted husband. Underneath was a calculating cold and evil killer.

An initial very poor investigation gave this monster an incredible amount of airtime and publicity.

Its shocking to think this poor woman lay in the house the entire time.
