There was Donegal involvement in the Dublin Dun Laoghaire ETB team who were beaten in the final of the Inter-Firm football final on Thursday night.

Glenfin duo Ross Ó Mearlaigh and Odhran McGlynn started for the Dublin-based side as they lost out to Liebherr by a score of 0-14 to 2-4 in St Patrick’s, Rhebogue in Limerick.

Ó Mearlaigh and McGlynn, along with fellow clubman Jack Marley, helped their side to an impressive victory over defending All-Ireland champions Boston Scientific from Tipperary in the quarter-final. In the semi-final, they travelled to Pairc Esler, Newry and defeated Ulster Champions EOS IT Solutions (Down) by 4-13 to 4-10.

But they came up short in the final against the Kerry side in what was one of the last ever senior football finals in the country to be played under the old rules.
