Princess Eugenie has announced a new job just days after taking up a new role linked to King Charles. Sarah Ferguson and Prince Andrew‘s youngest daughter has been named Global Ambassador for Project Zero/The Coral Collective, two initiatives which aim to “save coral reefs from functional extinction”.

Eugenie is backing the Coral Collective’s new art exhibition and auction, Thirty Six For Coral. The exhibition, led by Project Zero, is dedicated to raising awareness and funding for coral reefs, which are “one of the most critically endangered ecosystems on Earth”. The “landmark” exhibition will take place between June 12-20 Grand-Hôtel du Cap-Ferrat on the French Riviera.

Princess Eugenie said: “Despite occupying less than 1% of the seabed, coral reefs support 25% of all life in the ocean, and one billion people around the world depend on coral reefs for food and jobs.

“I’m pleased to be supporting Thirty Six for Coral, an important art exhibition that will help connect more people to the irreplaceable value of coral reefs, and raise essential funding to help protect and restore them for future generations.”

It comes days after it emerged that Eugenie had taken on a new role linked to the King.

The princess will now be mentoring a group of young creatives selected by the King’s Foundation as part of its new initiative to celebrate the charity’s 35th anniversary this year.

The 35 under 35 is a network of young people working with The King’s Foundation to promote the monarch’s legacy and ethos through their work in various industries, like environmental activism, fashion and architecture.

Its aim is to raise awareness of the work of The King’s Foundation and create a network of engaged individuals “who can work together and exchange knowledge across their diverse disciplines into the future, in line with The King’s philosophy of harmony”.

Eugenie has already met with a group of young creatives at the foundation’s base in the Garrison Chapel in Chelsea.
