McCreary was born on Aug. 31, 1998, in Port Salerno.

Tucked away in southern Martin County, Port Salerno is not the go-to place people think about when it comes to Florida rappers who often get their start in South Florida.

“I came up with my hood, you know what I’m saying,” BossMan Dlow told The Miami Herald in 2024. “My little hood. South Florida is big. Everybody knows South Florida. Miami, Fort Lauderdale, Palm Beach — everybody knows that. It’s like [a] salute to them, but I’m trying to bring shine to my city.”

How did BossMan Dlow get famous?

The Florida rapper has been in the music world for only a handful of years, beginning his rap career while incarcerated in 2019.

“I started rapping in jail in 2019. I was 19, 20. I had sale charges, possession of cocaine charges, s**t like that. I wasn’t even locked up that long.” McCreary told XXL, a hip-hop magazine, in 2024.

He was incarcerated for possession of controlled substances at the Martin County jail from July 16, 2019, until his release on July 14, 2020, according to county inmate records.

McCreary signed to Alamo Records in 2023.

Last year, McCreary broke through with his song “Get In With Me”, which went viral on TikTok after its January release. He later released his mixtape, “Mr Beat The Road,” on March 15, which included collaborations with Sexxy Red, Wizz Havinn and Rob49.

He also earned his first two Billboard Hot 100 entries with “Get In With Me” and “Mr. Pot Scraper” from his “Mr Beat The Road” mixtape, Billboard reported earlier this year.
