  1. This story is not surprising. Trump recently allowed the construction of a large wind farm to go forward after initially cancelling it. With Trump everything is transactional so it is not surprising the pipelines are the quid pro quo. The Governor seems to have decided after some political calculation that the climate law and agenda in NY has lost popularity. That Upstate would rather have gas heat than pay for oil. That most are not financially able to shell out for electrification. Especially now that the IRA tax credits appear to be disappearing. We will see if she has this right. Of course the likely Republican candidate for governor, Elise Stefanik, would be all in on whatever fossil fuel projects.
