There was another post here about this but it lacked the ad information provided by Google. So this played right before a video on TV2’s udland feed – the “ad” itself is pure trash and I will link it below for anyone to see.

First – the ethical implications of national news agency allowing this on their website insane, considering the genocide that the Israeli are committing in Gaza.

Second – a foreign government can easily put any content to play, right before an actual news clip from TV2? This is a misinformation nightmare. Any malicious actor can easily use the system to deploy a fake news clip to mask itself as an ad, before the actual content. The video comes directly from YouTube, and you can change the content of a video after upload. This is a major flaw and any broadcaster should be obligated to screen their advertisers, both in TV or their website / apps.

Third – this ad was specifically paid to target Danish demographics. On the YouTube video that it leads to, there are others who have seen it from UK news sites and Denmark as well.

  4. Isnt the adds shown there given in partnership with google add service?

    If so, arent the adds then based on your search history, I dont see those adds

    A loud fraction of the users are clearly unwilling to behave and discuss in a civillised manner – and your introduction does not bode well.

  10. France, Hungary, USA and others have had adds in newspaper and on SoMe in Denmark for many years. This times the add is from Israel. Because you dont like Israel and want to cancel their freedom of expression, you will call it “Foreign government propaganda”.
