‘Cost of living crisis is already escalating into cost of survival’

  1. Conservative economics working as designed – making the rich richer and turning everyone else into their serfs.

Oh sorry, you didn’t fall for that trickle down nonsense, did you?

  2. The word crisis keeps implying some sort of end date

Besides petrol and gas dropping in price a bit, I don’t quite see any “end” to this

  3. It’s amazing how the media and government are underplaying the seriousness of this. Once everyone has no money to spend, the country’s money becomes static, and a static economy means business and entires sectors slashing jobs due to lack of income. That initiates a spiral that causes more and more issues.

Of course, I expect the Tory solution will be to call a general election, hope Labour win and then blame them for lal the issues for the next few decades…

  4. It kinda feels like it’s been a bucket of crabs situation ever since shows like “living like a king on benefits” or whatever started airing around a decade ago. Presenting outlying cases like they were the norm and getting the general public outraged enough to demand support be cut even for people who were barely scraping by to begin with was a masterclass in evil genius.

  5. People seem to forget millions have been suffering the last decade who have been choosing between food and heating…now with even more costs they can’t afford either.

2 Food banks in 2004…2022 over 2000, we have more food banks in this country than McDonalds restaurants. Europe as a whole has less than 500 food banks.

You see Tory MP’s having photo ops when opening a new food bank like its something to be proud of. Its disgusting they shouldn’t even exist. Children in need & Red nose day use to be about helping people in 3rd world countries, now its mostly about donating to save our own.

What puzzles me the most is you have 100s of Tory MP’s, a lot going on TV, radio etc and defending everything this government does. Previous governments you would have MP’s stand up for themselves, refuse to lie, put their reputation and career first but none of them do now. Its like their brainwashed or they’ve all been offered something for their loyalty, maybe a piece of the pie when they sell off the NHS or some other public service.

  6. More people have just been sucked into a crisis that the poorest have been in for years. The only thing that has really changed is people’s perception of who is struggling in this economy.

  7. The cheapest solution for Tories is to ignore this until the next election approaches, then replace Boris and have the replacement bring back a load of things that were cut.

Spending money on policies propping up Boris is wasted money, might as well save it for the next leader, while hitting the public with everything now while they will link it to Boris.

  8. This situation is exactly what the Senior Tories and Boris Johnson want misery for all except the wealthy and privileged. Worse is to come but they will blame everybody else

  9. Yet, if you mrntion this, all you’ll get are comments about Ukrainian refugees as if your problems don’t matter.
