  3. Through Musk, Tesla has become a brand associated with the worst of US right-wing politics, Trump, and Nazis.

    I don’t know how it could possibly recover from that… Like, ever.

    At the same time, it has a legacy of broken promises and quality issues.

    At the same time, the world’s auto makers have caught up and surpassed it in the electric vehicle space.

    Its car situation is so bad that Musk is pitching Tesla as an AI company, or robot company… anything but cars.

    Its stock price is being maintained by pure copium… There’s nothing there. Its collapse is inevitable.

  13. Let’s wait for the June numbers. In 2024 it were 3668 cars, while now in May 2600. The market share in May with 19.8% is still lower than the average of 2023 and 2024.
    In Norway there are still people who like that car and were eager for the new MY. But first, for Tesla as a whole, Norwegian sales don’t make a big difference beside good news, and second, there is not much to win for Tesla, as the market is already completely electric.
    Other markets offer way more potential with EV percentages of 20 or 30%. Here the developement is much more interesting.

  14. Norway has always been a market that buys every EV they can get their hands on. Now there are a large surplus of Tesla’s available due to falling sales elsewhere in Europe. So demand might have for example shrunk 40%, but supply has greatly increased. If you compare the sales for the first 5 months of 2023 24 25 we have.

    2023: 13535

    2024: 7210

    2025: 7404.

    so down ~55% vs 2023

    So last year had poor delivers in the first 5 months due to lack of availability, and ramped up towards the end of the year.

    This year we have basically infinite supply, and sales are still barely above the same time last year.

    So i don’t think this “drastic” increase is a sign of support for Elon.

  34. I’m following a Norwegian girl on instagram. She is constantly sharing stories while showing her tesla. Last month I asked her why is she supporting literal nazi. She said politics and product are different things. She said Elon Musk is the best. She said it is not my problem as she doesn’t live in US. I was utterly disgusted. At the same time she is sharing palestine stories when elon is Israel supporter. Utterly hypocrisy.

  35. As I read a couple of days ago, the Norwegiam Government put a hefty tax on PHEVs, so a lot of people who would have bought an PHEV from BMW, Merc or Volvo now have to buy full EV in Norway. So in absolute Numbers, EV sales have picked up. No wonder some of them will go for Teslas rebates atm.

  48. While it is disappointing that they are not collapsing, this is a trashy and dishonest headline.

    Registrations rose by a whopping 196 cars for the entire country. And Tesla is known to sometimes fudge those numbers.

    So this is really not a statistically significant change at all.
