Ah the last couple of years of the Dunphy/Brady/Giles era were getting pretty tired and repetitive. Feel like Giles in particular was just trotting the same stuff out over and over again.

We would sit in silence listening to them at halftime because it was actually a good part of football now?
Now with current shower we just mute the TV when they are on and talk ourselves they are that unwatchable

The Bayern stadium is pretty new, state of the art etc yet the end up with the primary camera position far too low

Not the biggest football fan but would always tune in for the champions league or international games cause of these lads. Sometimes they were more worth watching than actual game. Absolute legends of Irish sport/pop culture!

I’ll tell you who wrote it, I can remember his name. Rod Liddle. He’s the guy who ran away and left his wife for a young one.
RTE sport decided we need to be more like Sky. Sold our values down the drain. Instead of embracing what makes us different they got rid of them. Did same with GAA coverage. Gerry Kiernan was our last bastion and now he’s gone also.
We’re left with shiney haircuts and fashion shows talking cliches and stats. There’s still a couple notable exceptions but the halcyon days are gone.
Stephen Kelly and Kevin Doyle are both terrible.
It’ll never be the same again, baby.
Watching the premiership with Dunph, Bill, Giles and Brady of a Saturday are some of my core memories. Man, they were the good days.

Worst of the lot is Ray Houghton. He is critical of absolutely everything. Honestly, really listen to him now in the second half. Every shot should’ve been a pass, every pass a shot. You cannot please him.

I remember Brolly complsining they got a new director of spprt at RTE who was stats obsessed and wanted it to be mlre like Sky. Brolly and a few oyhers argued they should keep the product as is to differentiate from Sky. Brolly and them were told where to go, Brolly thought they wouldnt getvrid of him and they did. Same was happening in all sports sectioms apparently.
