The affordable housing scheme has shown in multiple places that it raises costs by increasing demand. In the end the developers just end up making more money. Housing will just become as unaffordable as it was before the scheme.
So while I don’t want to see it brought in here. The lack of will for any alternatives for the government means the delay is a bit of a kick in the teeth for people who do hope to avail of it.

The whole thing is set up to fail more. Retitling the ‘action plan’ is step no. 233 out of 235 actions in the plan. Print out the new plan is 234, rinse/repeat is step 235, on track for 2026 if global warming doesn’t get them first.
